“Welcome. This piece is titled ‘Flowers of the Field.’ While creating this painting, the words of a beautiful hymn kept echoing in my ears:
‘The flowers of the field are dressed in beautiful clothes; the birds of the air never worry about their livelihood. Our loving Heavenly Father watches over them day by day, and He loves the people of this world even more, preparing for them the path to eternal life.’
Scripture says: ‘And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin… If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you?… So do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?”… for your heavenly Father knows that you need them.’
Look at the canvas. I used high-energy reds, oranges, yellows, and whites, intertwining them passionately like a gorgeous, wild explosion. I didn’t want clean, delicate outlines. What I wanted to capture was a raw, untamable power. This is the true nature of the flowers of the field—the universe has gifted them with an unstoppable life force.
And that unstoppable life force is actually the most primitive, resilient potential locked inside each of us. Sometimes, we spend all our time searching for validation from the outside, constantly calculating the resources we lack, while completely forgetting just how abundantly the Divine has already provided for us. The fresh air, the selfless rain, and the sunshine that we take for granted—these are actually the richest foundations of life, allowing us to survive and even thrive on them alone.
Now, notice that rugged, heavy black border framing the scene. It acts just like the fences we inevitably run into in real life—perhaps a sudden trial of fate, a failure in the eyes of society, or the heavy restrictions of our environment. Most of the time, we only see the coldness and hardness of that black fence, mistakenly believing it can block our path.
But this painting wants to show you a completely different perspective: a black fence can never hold back the divine life force gifted to us! Look closely—these vibrant bursts of life have long broken free from the shackles of the black fence. In the center, in the distance, and everywhere across the canvas, they are blooming in full glory.
Through this brushwork, I want to tell you that the life energy given to us by the Heavenly Father is far greater than any restriction a black fence can impose.
When you stand in front of this painting, I hope you see more than just a festival of colors. I want you to feel that solid, unyielding strength that breaks through every siege. May we all possess that same unstoppable life force of the flowers of the field. Let’s receive and treasure the divine gifts, bravely blooming into our own unique abundance. Let no worldly black fence ever stop our souls from opening completely, as we move forward in perfect peace and joy.”
