Looking at this painting, do you feel the shock of an established order being forcefully cut open? This is my deepest and most intense realization of ‘growth.’ You could call it a rebirth after a tearing apart…

A lot of people think growth is a slow, steady accumulation. But to me, true life transformation is usually ‘dramatic.’ It’s not some step-by-step rule; it’s a magnificent, explosive breakout, like light tearing through the dark.

See those interlocking color blocks in the center? Let’s dive into what’s actually happening here:

First, it’s that feeling of tearing away from rules and boundaries.
With those intersecting color blocks, I didn’t use soft, smooth transitions. Instead, I used sharp, direct brushstrokes to create a raw ‘tearing sensation’ between the colors. This represents how, when we grow, we have to make leap-forward breakthroughs that tear away from our old selves. This kind of breakthrough is sometimes painful, like tearing open a protective shell we’ve worn for a long time. But that is the only way the power deep inside our souls can truly burst out.

Next, even though ‘tearing’ sounds heavy, this isn’t about failure—it’s about the intervention of light.
Look at all the bright yellows, fiery reds, and pure whites I injected into this painting. What I want to tell you is this: it’s not sadness or failure. It is a beam of light that is simply too vast to be contained by any vessel, so it crashes into your life like a ‘shattering explosion.’ This is an extraordinary energy. It forcefully steps into your plans and carries you into a completely different realm.

And at an even deeper level, you’ll see yourself embracing this dramatic leap.
Right in the center of the canvas, that brightest part looks like a crack in the universe. When you are willing to accept this unconventional kind of growth, you are no longer just walking on the ground—you are soaring through light and shadow. I used rich layers to mimic a new order born out of chaos. Because only when the original structure cracks open can new possibilities pour in without reservation, just like columns of light.

‘Piercing Light’ is my tribute to the power of life.
