“I named this piece “Blooming in the Light”
Looking at this vase of flowers standing tall in the quiet, do you feel a sense of life force brewing inside? This painting isn’t just about plants; it’s telling a story about the philosophy of ‘waiting’ and ‘meeting.’
A lot of people praise the beauty of flowers, but they overlook the light that makes them look so dazzling. This painting is my most heartfelt observation of ‘opportunity’ and ‘capability.’
You see the window light, don’t you? That’s your external opportunity.
Look at those bright, semi-transparent brushstrokes. That represents the ‘light from outside the window.’ In real life, this light is the changing of times, external timing, a sudden chance, or a mentor who appears out of nowhere. We can’t control the light. It has its own rhythm and schedule, pouring into the room at the most unexpected moment. When the light comes, it’s a blessing.
And you see the flowers too, right? That’s your long-term preparation.
This vase of flowers is ‘us.’ I used a thick impasto technique to paint the petals and leaves because I wanted to express the accumulation of solid capability. If this vase weren’t by the window, or if the flowers had already withered, then when the most beautiful light pours in, there would be nothing there but a hollow shadow. So, the flowers must always be ready. They must absorb nutrients, take root in the silence, and make sure they are in their most vibrant state.
Now, you see the bloom, don’t you? That’s the exact second where the two meet.
The most captivating moment in this painting is the exact second the window light hits the petals perfectly. To the onlookers, it’s a breathtaking ‘bloom.’ But to the flowers, it’s the long-awaited meeting of ‘dedicated preparation.’ I intentionally wove the silhouette of the vase into the light and shadow of the background, just to capture that perfect harmony between destiny and preparation.
‘Blooming in the Light’ wants to tell you: don’t just wait for the light. First, become that flower that is worth shining on.
Build up your strength, and wait patiently by the window.
When the light of the era pushes the window open and steps in, the entire world will see your most brilliant, stunning bloom!”
