“I named this piece ‘Walking with Grace.’
This is my strongest declaration to life: this is exactly how life should be—always looking forward, and moving ahead with absolute certainty.
Do you see the confidence in that proud, big stride in this painting?
Look at this winding mountain path. I used strong, thick acrylic brushstrokes to build the road, which represents ‘faith.’ Every single step you take on it feels solid and certain. I intentionally let light and shadow dance on the path; those aren’t obstacles—those are the footprints of grace. I don’t care for the illusion of a flat road or sheer efficiency. What I want is the reality and ease of being able to take huge, confident strides, even when life has its ups and downs.
Do you see the certainty that comes from pure goodness in this painting?
Right in the center, woven between the lush trees and leaves, I left the brightest, clearest blue sky and white light. That is the ‘pursuit of goodness.’ It’s precisely because of this unshakable positive power in my heart that when I look up, I can see the fiery gold of autumn maples and the deep green of summer leaves weaving into the most magnificent scenery. This certainty comes from my belief that life itself is a gift of grace.
Now, do you also find yourself in a mindset where you only look at the brightness and ignore the dark?
This was my strongest conviction while creating this piece. Even though there are shadows by the roadside and deep tones on the tree trunks, my paintbrush was only responsible for recording the light. I layered those sun-kissed treetops with incredibly explosive colors just to tell you this: when you fix your eyes on the light, the darkness naturally falls behind you.
This isn’t just an artist’s perspective—this should be our perspective on life.
Don’t hesitate, and don’t look back. Take in this brilliant scenery life has prepared for you, carrying immense courage and validation.
With grace leading the way, all we need to do is keep moving forward!”
