English Intro

“For this painting, I chose a very simple, yet most sincere title: ‘Love, Abundance, and Happiness.’
It’s a gentleness on the tip of the tongue—the love, abundance, and happiness through my own eyes and heart.
Looking at this table full of vibrant sushi and dishes, do you feel that warm, little sense of satisfaction in your heart? That’s exactly what I wanted to share—those everyday, precious little moments of pure bliss. Our lives might not have mind-blowing joys every single day, but we can absolutely take the time of a single meal to let our souls feel completely full.
Look at the thick-cut salmon sashimi, the glistening sushi, and that steaming, topping-rich bowl of ramen. I painted them with warm and realistic strokes because, at that exact moment of creation, I felt this was what happiness concretely looked like. Happiness isn’t out of reach. When you’re exhausted after a long day and a delicious, colorful meal is waiting for you—that’s a way of pampering yourself, the simplest kind of therapy.
Even though there are no people in this painting, you can feel that someone might be sitting on the other side of the table—maybe an old friend, a loved one, or simply yourself, learning to enjoy life. I intentionally created this ‘right-in-front-of-you’ perspective, hoping that when you look at it, it clicks with you. It’s as if you’re about to pick up your chopsticks and share this abundance with me. This kind of love shows up in the way we appreciate the finer details of life and how we cherish the present moment.
Oh, and here’s a little secret behind this bliss: these are actually some of the meals my daughter treated us to!
The simple woody tones in the background are there to bring out the freshness and vibrancy of the food itself. What I hope this painting passes on to everyone is this: life can be tedious, but as long as we can still taste something delicious and feel the comfort that food brings, we are happy.
When you look at this mouth-watering sushi and fresh sashimi, if your mouth waters a little or if you catch yourself smiling, thinking, ‘Ah, I really want a bite,’ then the love in this painting has already made its way into your heart.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, don’t forget to leave some space for yourself to enjoy an abundant meal and embrace a piece of happiness!”
