English Intro

“I gave this piece a warm, comforting title: ‘Abundance of Joy.’

Looking at this steaming, colorful bowl of ramen, are your taste buds starting to dance already? This painting doesn’t talk about deep philosophies. It’s about the most direct, purest sense of satisfaction and happiness in life.

I often think to myself: What kind of joy in life can possibly compare to the moment when you’re completely exhausted and starving, and someone hands you a hot, rich, and creamy bowl of ramen?

Have you ever experienced that feeling of salvation through hunger?
This bowl of ramen in the center of the canvas is something I ‘cooked’ using my most emotional brushstrokes. Look at that milky-white broth—it’s so thick and rich, you can almost smell the aroma of it simmering for dozens of hours. I absolutely love seafood, and I especially enjoy ramen—can you feel that passion here? And I’m sure you noticed the bright yellow corn, the fresh green onions, and those slices of chashu pork dotted throughout… I intentionally painted them with realistic, rich colors because, to a starving person, this food isn’t just matter—it’s salvation. The exact second that hot broth slides into your stomach, the very moment your chopsticks lift the noodles to take that first bite… that warmth spreading from the inside out is where joy begins.

Do you have your own definition of ‘joy’?
A lot of people chase grand achievements, but this painting wants to tell you: sometimes, simply being full is the purest kind of mental satisfaction. This joy is ‘overflowing’ because you don’t have to look far for it; it’s right here in this little moment of pure bliss in front of you. I piled up all these delicious ingredients that I love just to express a sense of ‘boundless’ happiness. Life doesn’t need to be mind-blowing every single day. As long as there is a rich, warm meal waiting for you when you need it most—that is the most solid blessing of all.

Now, can we share a knowing smile together?
For the background, I used quiet, simple tones, purely to make this bowl of ramen the absolute focus of your world. I hope everyone who looks at this piece catches themselves smiling. It will remind you of a dinner in the freezing wind, or a late-night session of self-therapy. That kind of peace and joy that needs no words—born simply from being ‘full and satisfied’—is a universal language for all of mankind.

‘Abundance of Joy’ is my most heartfelt praise for life.

Life might have plenty of tough problems, but right now, please put down all your worries. Let’s enjoy this abundance right in front of us, and let your soul follow your appetite to experience this most ordinary, yet greatest fullness of joy.”
