“This piece is titled “Dream Voyage”
Looking at this painting, you might think the colors are a bit ‘unconventional,’ right? But that’s exactly the door I wanted to open, to take you away from reality and into my inner world. These are colors beyond reality—it’s the “Dream Voyage” through my own eyes and heart.
Even though you can clearly see the shapes of the sailboats and their masts on the canvas, look closer: I didn’t use a single drop of traditional ocean blues or sky blues.
Do you see the spiritual projection behind these physical objects?
A sailboat is a real, physical thing, and it represents each and every one of us. But I didn’t want these boats to just sit on a plain blue sea. Instead, I wrapped them in massive blocks of purple and peach. This is a spiritual projection. Purple represents mystery and nobility, while pink represents tenderness and desire. What I want to say is that the moment a person’s soul begins to dream, the world they see is no longer bound by the physical world.
Can you feel how this painting refuses to stay grounded in reality?
We’re so used to living in a world of ‘should-be’ colors: the sky should be blue, the water should be green. But this painting wants to tell you: we must leave room for imagination. If our minds always stay trapped in the mundane chores and logic of daily life, how boring would that be? I used thick acrylic color blocks to blur the line between the water and the sky, purely to create a dream dimension—one that doesn’t exist in reality, but is absolutely real to the soul.
Now, do you feel the freedom to sail away in this dream?
Look at that largest white sailboat right in the center. It looks incredibly pure against the brilliant background. It’s not sailing in water; it’s sailing in pure imagination. Once you learn to break out of reality’s box, you’ll realize your life can have colors far wider than the blue sky, and possibilities much deeper than the ocean.
‘ Dream Voyage ‘ is the open space I’ve left for each of you. When you stare at this weave of purple and red, I hope you can temporarily forget the ticking of the clock. Let your heart follow this boat to the most beautiful place—a place that only you can define.
Because, only those who dare to chase dreams can ever see the true realm.”
