“This piece is titled ‘Planetary Core’
This is a bold leap forward in my creative journey. This time, I didn’t want to paint the scenery you see with your eyes; I wanted to challenge the very ‘roots of our abstract thoughts.’ Please, join me in temporarily shutting down your physical senses. Let’s step into this cosmic experiment of the mind, and push our thinking to its absolute limit…
When we look up at the night sky, what actually pops into our eyes and minds? Is it the basic impression of the constellations? Or the sheer depth of space? In this painting, I tried to tear those elements apart and piece them back together.
First, let’s break down that basic impression of constellations.
Constellations, at their core, are just mankind’s way of trying to create ‘order’ out of a chaotic cluster of stars. Look at those dots and lines that seem random, yet subtly pull on each other—that is my abstract reshaping of constellations. I intentionally avoided painting concrete shapes like the Big Dipper or Orion. Instead, I wanted to capture the raw instinct of ‘finding connections in the middle of nothingness.’ Those bright spots aren’t real stars; they are the sparks ignited by human thought in the cosmic wilderness.
Next, I invite you to think about cosmic elements through pure imagination.
Is space just a cold blackness? Or a swirl of colorful nebulas? In this painting, I used a lot of colors and layers that completely ‘break away’ from our daily experiences. I let the colors crash into each other violently right at the center, creating this explosive energy of ‘the astral core.’ This isn’t astrophotography. This is the visual afterglow created when human imagination touches the very edge of the universe.
Finally, I want you to know that this is an experiment—a pure break from experience.
We are so used to using our ‘earthly experiences’ to understand ‘heavenly things.’ But what this painting does is cut that connection completely. I used fluid, shattered, and layered acrylic brushstrokes along with thick chunks of paint to mimic a non-material state. Here, there is no gravity, no up or down—there are only the footprints left behind as thoughts constantly expand and collide in an infinite space.
This painting wants to ask the onlooker a question: When you break free from the earth, and leave behind every experience you take for granted, what can your soul actually catch?
That is ‘Planetary Core’—searching for the purest, most primitive core of human thought in the middle of an endless void.”
